Why does nintendo put NEW in front of everything?

Nintendo have been known to add new in front of everything. (New Nintendo 3DS, New Super Smash Bros U, Yoshi's new island.) and we don't get it as it's just the same game as before but with updated graphics. So it's not exactly "new". So why does Nintendo do this?

The Answer is really simple.

According to Chris Pranger, a localization writer for Nintendo, they add new to some of their products is because in Japanese, "new" means exotic and cool. That's why it's on so many products.

It's good to have that cleaned up.
